Team SD Worx-Protime regrets to announce the cancellation of their participation in this Thursday’s Classic De Panne-Brugge. The decision stems from a series of setbacks affecting several riders within the team, including injuries and key members attending a training camp. Consequently, assembling a complete team for the De Panne race is unfeasible.

Expressing disappointment, sports manager Danny Stam commented, “It’s unfortunate that we’re unable to partake in this esteemed classic event. Following the mishap at Danilith Nokere Koerse, some of our riders are still grappling with injuries. Given a few extra days of recuperation, they should be able to regain full fitness ahead of the significant upcoming races. Notably, Lorena Wiebes, who suffered from the incident in Nokere, was anticipated to lead our charge in the Classic De Panne-Brugge. Our focus now shifts to aiming for a strong comeback at Gent-Wevelgem on Sunday, where we aim to contend for victory with a fully rejuvenated squad.”

Team SD Worx-Protime had a successful start of the season so far, with wins in Strade Bianche, Ronde van Drenthe, Danilith Nokere Koerse Women, Oetinge, in the stage races of The UAE Tour and Setmana Cyclist Volta Feminine de la Communitat Valenciana. Lotte Kopecky, started in Italy at Trofeo Alfredo Binda, not being on the early team schedule, and finishing second behind Italian Champion Elisa Balsamo this Sunday.

We wish all inured riders al the best and hope for a safe return at Gent Wevelgem again!
